Vinyl Siding Inspections
This is what we have seen in the last four years!
- 75% of vinyl sided homes we inspect have installation defects
- 90% of installations on new construction did not follow the industry standard installation instructions
- 50% of resided homes, vinyl over another siding, have areas of active rot that are not visible from the exterior
- 20% of homes less than five years old have leaks that are beginning to damage structural components
- 100% of the homes with vinyl siding over hardboard, “Masonite”, are not correctly installed.
This inspection goes way beyond the siding inspections included in typical home inspections and will frequently take as long as an entire home inspection!
- The installation is compared to the manufacturers current instructions
- We use non destructive moisture meters and open up the siding to verify findings where needed
- The siding is put back together anywhere we took it apart for inspection
- A detailed report is provided that includes pictures of the critical defects
- We include recommendations for repairs helping you understand what is critical and what is not
